Swindon Managers Countdown

This feature was only meant to last one month, however with the various transfer news and other commitments, this has turned into a beast of a project so Managers Month is rolling over into July with the final ten.
So far I’ve confirmed my initial suspicions that Paul Hart was our worst ever manager. Yes he didn’t come 30th, however Hart’s tenure wasn’t cut short by World War 2, so in my eyes he takes the worst ever manager mantle away from the unfortunate Neil Harris.
Also, in addition to Harris and Hart, Onoura, Quinn, Lindley, Todd and Malpas were all worse than Swindon Town being managed by committee selection in 1955-1956.
The countdown has punished those who’s commitment to the Town cause has left them, as Dennis Wise and Dave Mackay have found out.
Early managers Louis Page and Sam Allen are relatively high in the countdown, which is really good considering they could only pick up points in two of the three competitions eligible here.
Despite gaining a promotion from League Two, Paul Sturrock only makes it to No.12, beaten by Danny Wilson’s achievements in League One.
