Town v Colchester

This afternoon Town were away at Colchester United in our first of two matches against fellow promotion contenders. Colchester had failed to win in eight games (since February) and have slipped out of the play-off places following Huddersfield’s mid-week win against Oldham. Wilson fielded a full strength and unchanged team following the Easter Monday comfortable 3-0 win over Tranmere Rovers. Importantly Town

Town Live on TV

With the live televised home game against Exeter on Monday fast approaching, I’ve tried to come up with a list of previous Town games shown live on TV. I’ve covered most of the major and recent matches but I know there are some missing, perhaps some ITV matches in the 1990s? If anyone can remember any other Town games on TV or memories of our TV performances, please feel free to comment…….

League One Promotion Contenders

With an eleven point gap between Swindon and 7th place Colchester, even if worst came to the worst and Town were to lose on Saturday, I’m still feeling confident that a play-off place is all-but secured. Now then…a few weeks ago after our defeats to both Bristol Rovers and MK Dons, I had written-off any chance of Swindon fighting for

Town v Tranmere

It appears that relegation threatened Tranmere Rovers’ plan was to take 3 points from their games against Norwich and Swindon. Town were grateful they weren’t pushed, having had a day less

Town have announced this morning that second year scholars Will Evans (central defender) and Billy Bodin (midfielder / forward) have been offered new one year professional contracts.  Unfortunately Calum Antell, Matt Barnes, Elliot Knight, Mark Hartmann and Jordan Record will be released at the end of the season. Town v Southampton

I couldn’t get to the Southampton game last night, so a big thanks to Iain for this excellent write up. Swindon’s final game in hand couldn’t really have been a much trickier proposition.  Southampton had won their last 7 games in the league at St Mary’s, scoring 23 goals in the process.  Town came into the game with some confidence
