Swindon Town: Making Dreams Come True…

I couldn’t make it to Dagenham yesterday afternoon so I won’t comment a great deal on the match itself, having listened to the game and only seen the briefest of highlights of our pathetic defence and embarrassing performance on the Football League Show. Our second defeat in 5 days following a 5 match unbeaten run firmly cements Town’s place within mid-table. However, it is

Last Minute Plymouth Winner Shocks Town in 3-2 Defeat

Town lost 2-3 in what was a pulsating and watchable League One tie against Plymouth Argyle at the County Ground last night. Our first defeat in 6 games in all competitions. Earlier on Tuesday The Adver reported on Peter Reid’s plan to exploit the flanks and cause the narrow Town midfield plenty of problems. This seems an obvious approach to provide our

At Last… The First League Win of the Season!

I never doubted our ability to eventually deliver and we certainly deserved the 3 points against a rudderless Southampton, whose arrogant and deluded management and fans need to realise they are a League One club. It was a tight affair with possession 49/51 in favour of Southampton. Chances were limited with an equal amount of shots on and off target. It was only in

Vincent Pericard Finally Scores for Swindon Town in Trophy Win

I’m pinching myself. I can’t believe I’m finally writing it. After 230 days…5,516 hours…21 matches…only 3 starts.. and 465 minutes of first team action, our eternal substitute and luckless Vincent Pericard has finally opened his account for Swindon Town. Vincent scored the opening goal for Town against a managerless Southampton in our 3-0 victory in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy game at St Mary’s. The journeyman

Town at Franchise FC

Town travelled to Pete Winkleman’s stolen football club with high hopes of finally securing a first win of the season, and in doing so start to look upwards to fulfil our raised expectations. My visit to StadiumMK was a first Town away game (excluding Wembley) for some time. After lunch and taking in the sight, yes the sole sight of

Town v Brentford

2009/2010 started fairly slowly for Town with 4 points out of a possible 9 and little sign of what was to come. Now the 2010/2011 season shows no sign of being any different, as a disjointed Town go one worse by failing to register a victory in our opening 3 games. In doing so, we’ve made our worst start to a season

Town v Brighton: Early Days…

There’s me only a few days ago posting my league predictions… Swindon to finish 3rd I triumphantly stated! However the Wembley hangover continued. Like last season Town started with an opening defeat, after going down 2-1 against Brighton at the County Ground this afternoon in what was ultimately a disappointing and disjointed game for both sides. Town were sorry and second best throughout. At times it appeared the players didn’t know each other.
