Match Preview: Preston North End vs Swindon Town
Form Guide…
Swindon have made an unbeaten start to the season without conceding a goal in League One.
Away from the County Ground, Swindon are unbeaten in 3 games this season, with the two League One games ending as goalless draws against Bradford City and Hartlepool United, and the midweek goalfest at Stoke City ending 4-3 in Town’s favour.
Despite all the new signings, the Lilywhites have had a less than spectacular start with draws against Colchester and Bournemouth sandwiching an away defeat at Shrewsbury. They’ve fared better in the League Cup, knocking out Championship sides Huddersfield and Palace to join Town in Round 3.
At Deepdale, Preston are unbeaten in their 3 games this season and have conceded a single goal.
Swindon-Town-FC.co.uk Head-to-Head…
In all League, FA Cup and Football League competitions, Town have faced Preston on 26 occasions, winning 7, drawing 7 and defeated 12 times; scoring 34 and conceding 41.
Away, Swindon have just 1 win, 5 draws and 7 defeats, scoring 13 and conceding 22. That solitary victory at Deepdale came in our last visit on 22nd February 1986 when Town recorded a 3-0 win in Division Four. Considering our overall record in Preston is crap, we’re unbeaten in our previous 3 visits…

My prediction…
Both sides had four goal victories in the League Cup in midweek so perhaps we won’t be seeing another goalfest on Sunday afternoon. This has a draw written all over it…however Town’s end of window strengthening just gives me the confidence we can secure a 2-0 victory.
Come on You Reds!

The new team are coming together now and should provide a more than ample test for you. Provided we don’t let you get comfortable and keep the pressure on throughout the game then a hard fought 2-1 should be on the cards. Apart from the two times you play us I really hope you do well this season, love your manager and love a good double promotion story.UTW!!!
