October Player of the Month: Your Vote

October has seen Swindon Town unbeaten in League Two with 3 wins and 2 draws, rising into the Play-Off places and progressing into the Area Quarter Final of the Johnstones Paint Trophy thanks to a Jake Jervis double at Exeter. But who is your player of the month?

There are plenty of contenders…

Does on loan Crystal Palace ‘keeper Wes Foderingham take the award thanks to completing his first four games in a Town shirt without conceding?

Or does the credit go one of the newly favoured defensive partnership of Aden Flint and Alan McCormack, Liam Ridehalgh or Paul Caddis who’s effort up and down the right has been invaluable?

In midfield, Matt Ritchie’s contribution has been spectacular at times, Simon Ferry is consistent in the centre of the park, or has Raffa De Vita sufficently impressed you with his conversion to a wide man on the left?

Upfront the new loanees Jake Jervis and Christian Montano have both been in the goals however neither have scored in 3 games.

You can vote by choosing your player of the month from the selections below. This poll will close on Thursday at 18.00 hours with the winner announced in Vic Morgan’s Blog on Friday morning.

Flint has returned to the defence and we have kept four clean sheets on the trot, so it has to be Aden for me with Ferry a close second.

If you exclude Bradford, De Vita has been very good too but McCormack and Flint are probably the outstanding Town players, Foderingham of the loanees.

      Swindon-town-fc.co.uk confirmed:

Foderingham the first Town keeper in history to keep clean sheets in his first four games

Record in league games is 6, Downsborough in the first six games of 68/69, although there were 3 cup games during that spell.

In all comps, the record is 5. Fred Hemmings (1904), Mike Turner (64), Downsborough (67, 69 & 70), Jim Allan (83)

I’ve gone for Foderingham. Feel so much more confident with him in goal then Smith or Lanzano, and obviously he’s kept 4 clean sheets and made some brilliant saves. Who to pick was the toughest decision so far this month though, which is a good sign!

Wes has made a big difference to the team,he is calm and to be honest cannot remember him making a single mistake….and he is only about 6 games into his career.

Wes Foderingham has broken a club record; but I am sure that Auden Flint has broken a club record as well – surely for the % headers won. If it weren’t for Flint, we may not have had a new goalkeeping record…. So my vote goes to Flint.
