Match Preview: Swindon Town vs MK Dons
Form Guide…
A goalless draw at Hartlepool United was followed by a 3-0 victory over Crawley Town, which took Swindon to 4th in the early season table and the only side in League One yet to concede.
At the County Ground, Swindon are unbeaten in 27 league and cup matches, a run stretching back to a 1-3 defeat by Southampton on the 30th August 2011. Also, in 2012, Town have only conceded twice in 17 games as hosts.
MK Dons are unbeaten this season, having beaten Cheltenham on penalties in the League Cup, dispatched Oldham 2-0 at Stadium:MK and drew 1-1 with AFC Bournemouth on Tuesday. Interestingly, they have finished all three games with 10 men after a sending off in all of those matches.

Swindon-town-fc.co.uk History Book…
The Town’s first meeting with the club from Milton Keynes came early in the 2004/05 season, when goals from Sam Parkin and Brian Howard gave the Town a 2-1 win, helped by a penalty save by Rhys Evans with the scores at 1-1.
The first transfer dealings came in 2006, when Town captain Sean O’Hanlon left under acrimonious circumstances to join the Dons, for a £75,000 fee set by a tribunal.
Swindon-town-fc.co.uk Memorable Match… MK Dons 1 Swindon 4 | League Cup 1st Round | 11th August 2009
After going down 5-0 at Gillingham, Town bounced back in style at MK Dons. Former Dons midfielder JP McGovern’s shot from 40 yards set Swindon on our way to a comfortable victory. After MK got one back with a penalty, 3 minutes later Billy Paynter scored the first of his 29 goals in 2009/10, firing in a low powerful shot towards the far corner. Paynter also secured the third, pouncing from close range to send Gueret’s spillage into the net. A fourth was always likely. A poor Dons performance was capped with ‘keeper Gueret and defender McCracken cocking up, with the defender scoring an own goal, sending in an attempted clearance much to the amusement of the Town faithful.
My prediction…
Can we really come away as hosts with yet another clean sheet..? While we have a very poor recent record over MK Dons, Town’s defensive line looks impregnable at the moment and goals are flowing – albeit not from the pairing of Collins and Williams – so a 2-0 victory awaits…
Come on You Reds!
unfortunately no stats this week, but they will return soon…
