2012/13 Season: Hopes & Expectations – Rosie MacGillivray
Throughout this week our writers reveal their hopes and expectations for Swindon Town in League One during 2012/13. Next up, Rosie MacGillivray…
Hopes and expectations for the season: I hope for a play-off finish. I expect a top-half finish. Good home form again should allow us to do the latter with relative ease.
Signing of the summer: Andy Williams.
I back him to be Town’s top scorer this season, although looks to have a lot more in his locker. Sharp thinker, whose link-up play and movement can only improve with games with his new team-mates. His work ethic should even please Paolo Di Canio. Basically, a better Alan Connell.
Who will be the key player for STFC in 2012/13 and why? Wes Foderingham.
If we’re to have a good season, we need to build on what we excel at – and that’s defending. Foderingham is key to this and up against better teams with more potent strikers, him having a good season is key to Swindon having one also.
Where we’ll finish: 7th
Promoted teams: In no particular order, Notts County, Preston and some random team like Carlisle or Brentford.
Relegated teams: Portsmouth before January, Walsall, Leyton Orient and Crawley.
