Safe-Standing Survey

Please take part in our Safe-Standing Survey which has ten questions seeking your views on: whether you would support the provision for Safe-Standing area(s) at the rebuilt County Ground if this was permitted; how it could be implemented; and in what ways could Safe-Standing affect your attendance and matchday experience.

For more information about Safe-Standing and the reasons which restrict Swindon Town FC implementing a return to standing areas at the County Ground please read our article by clicking HERE.

I have some bad memories of standing in the days before the CG became all seater. I didn’t enjoy standing one bit and I prefer a seat now any day.

Matt, the suggestion is to make it an option, not make it compulsory. So if you prefer to sit, you’d still be able to. But you’d be able to buy a seat in a seated area, knowing that everyone there would be sat. Rather than, as sometimes happens now, buying a seat and finding you have to stand anyway because everyone in front of you is. It’s a win-win for sitters and standers.

Need to get the atmosphere going similar to Fratton Park.

Everyone knows there is a demand for standing, because 25% of our home crowd do it every game. They also put up with the worst view just so that they can stand, so I think there are more that would like to, but want the better view of the side stands. Those fans will still want a standing area in any new ground, no matter what the ground design.

Terracing at football stadiums has never been the cause for concern as far as I can see. the problems use to arise from some of the mindless minority that inhabited them. But we all agree the atmosphere was ten times better.

The terrible violence that was once part of every Saturday afternoon has long since been consigned to the history books. But the rest of us are left to lament those electric afternoons on the terracing.

Not one single football fan ever asked for all seater stadiums and that includes Wembley.
Listen to the fans and hasten a return to some standing areas and along with it the atmosphere and loyalty.
